Terms of Engagement

AQ Consultancy terms of engagement, how we work together: scope, what we ask of you, fees, confidentiality, why we do not guarantee tax outcomes.

These terms describe how we work together. The specific scope, deliverables and fees for your engagement are set out in a separate written engagement letter, which takes precedence for the services it covers. These general terms provide the framework around it, what you can expect of us, what we ask of you, and the basis on which we work.

Scope and engagement

Our work is defined by a written engagement letter that sets out what is included, what is not, who does the work, how often, and what it costs. Work outside that scope is agreed and priced separately before it is done, so there are no surprises.

What we ask of you

  • Complete and accurate information: our work depends on the records and facts you provide; we rely on them being complete and correct
  • Timely responses: meeting deadlines depends on receiving what we need in good time
  • Authority: where we act on your behalf, for example with the Federal Tax Authority, we do so within the authority you give us
  • Your own responsibility: you remain the taxpayer, and the returns and obligations remain yours; we help you meet them correctly

Fees

Fees are as set out in your engagement letter, fixed for predictable recurring work, and agreed in advance for one-off or out-of-scope work. We invoice as agreed, and we are clear about what any fee covers.

Confidentiality

We keep the information you share with us confidential and use it only to provide your services and meet our obligations, as set out in our privacy policy. We do not disclose your information except where necessary to provide the services or where required by law.

No guaranteed outcomes

We do not promise specific tax outcomes. Tax and compliance depend on the facts and the law, which we apply correctly and to your best advantage, but we cannot and do not guarantee a particular refund, a penalty waiver, or any specific result. We describe the process and the tests, and we act with care; the outcome follows the facts and the rules.

Governing framework

Our engagement is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any question about these terms or your engagement is best raised with us directly, and we will always seek to resolve it openly first.

Ending an engagement

Either of us can end an engagement as provided in the engagement letter. On ending, we complete any agreed outstanding work, settle fees for work done, and hand over your records completely so nothing is lost and your compliance continues without a gap.
